HULL THICKNESS MEASUREMENTS

Drone based Non Destructive Testing (NDT) technology enables us to conduct hull thickness readings entirely from the deck of a vessel, this eliminates the requirement of our team to enter a confined space.

Traditional additional access methods such as rafting, staging/scaffolding, or rope access are typically used during a vessel survey to allow the a surveyor and gauging team to access areas in the cargo or ballast tanks - such as the under-deck structure that are inaccessible from walkways and ladders.

These additional access requirements often account for the bulk of a special survey's time and cost in addition to potentially limiting the location the vessel can perform its dry dock or yard work due to staging costs or ability to safely discharge contaminated water following rafting.

close-up survey

C-Bird is class-approved to carry out close-up surveys in line with IACS class rules, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.

By combining advanced, proven drone technology with an industry-leading track record in marine inspections, we make it possible to perform detailed close-up surveys without the need for staging, rafting, or human entry into confined spaces such as cargo or ballast tanks.

This approach significantly reduces risk to personnel, speeds up the inspection process, and eliminates the substantial costs and downtime associated with traditional survey methods.

Our drone-based inspections capture high-resolution visual data and can be seamlessly integrated with lidar scans & ultrasonic thickness measurements, delivering a complete picture of structural integrity from the safety of the deck.

Lidar scanning

C-Bird use LiDAR-equipped drone technology to deliver detailed 3D representations of vessels, capturing even the most complex internal and external structures with precision.

Our drones can operate in confined, hazardous, or otherwise difficult-to-access areas, creating accurate spatial maps without the need for scaffolding, rafting, or human entry.

Whether mapping the deck surfaces or intricate internal tanks, our LiDAR surveys give owners, operators, & surveyors the data they need - quickly, safely, and efficiently.
